Hosted by NTBC, join us as we put the first ever Easter Mass Community Choir in the north Dade and south Broward communities. This is a special seamless production that includes choir, soloists, narrators and video to tell the story of Easter to the world around us in a way never seen before. Using "The Story" for our production material, we hope to reach out and bring together a community of singers and artists for this special production during a season that usually doesn't get that much attention in communities at large.

Description

This program will take place Saturday, March 24th, at 6:30 pm - one week prior to Easter weekend and Resurrection Sunday! Groups of singers from various churches are encouraged to sign up together, this will provide churches from around the community the ability to take this music back to their churches for Resurrection Sunday - and all the practices and scheduling is already taken care of by the Mass Choir ahead of time. Take advantage of this opportunity!

 

High School and College/University vocalists wanted! Do you sing in your high school, college or university? you participation in this event you will earn easy and FUN community service hours! Hours are counted for all the practices and main performance event as well! Sign up today.

Singers

  • Sign up using Eventbrite to be a part of the mass choir

  • $20 to sign up. This provides each person with a copy of the choral book, audio recording of their part to practice on their own, and a Community Mass Choir T-shirt.

  • Basses, Tenors, Altos and Sopranos all needed to get a full, rich sound for mass choir.

  • No previous exprerience needed.

  • Singers must attend all require rehearsals (to be held Wednesday nights, with some special sectionals on extra dates) See schedule below.

About "The Story - The Musical"

 

Using the Text of the NIV, The Story presents the Bible in a chronological, novel format. The church campaign was later pioneered by Max Lucado and Randy Frazee. "The Story – The Musical" is a breathtaking new project that presents God’s redemptive plan for His people from Genesis to Revelation, and is based on the best-selling books by Lucado and Frazee and the artist recording by Bernie Herms and Nichole Nordeman. Featuring eight songs from the Dove Award-winning recording, "The Story – The Musical" has been superbly crafted by master arranger and orchestrator David Hamilton for church choirs and soloists. Deborah Craig-Claar has artfully used sequences from Scripture and Frazee and Lucado’s commentary to tell a seamless story from Eden’s garden to an empty tomb to the throne of heaven. The story is brought into vivid relief by the addition of an accompaniment DVD which features the original concert videos from the popular tour of The Story.

Rehearsals & Dates

 

Singers must be present at all rehearsals applicable to them (i.e. full choir, sectional practices, run-throughs, etc.)  Rehearsals for full choir begin Wednesday, January 31st 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm and continue every Wednesday after that leading up to the performance on Saturday, March 24th. Additional rehearsals will be held on Saturdays (or any other day as needed) for sections (soprano, alto, tenor, bass).  Scheduled dates are as follows:

  • March 17th (Saturday)  //  10:00am - 11:30am [Tenor/Bass sectional]

Registration

- Singers can register online using the Eventbrite form or register in person on site. 
- Cost is $20 dollars, cash or check accepted (credit card must go through Eventbrite)
